TriVector Sr. Vice President Receives ESGR Patriot Award

On April 16, 2019, TriVector Sr. Vice President, Joey Shelton, received the Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense program supporting National Guard employees.  National Guardsman and TriVector Sr. Contracts Manager, John Durant, nominated Dr. Shelton for this prestigious award in recognition of TriVector’s exemplary support of his National Guard duty and his family.  Congressman Mo Brooks (AL-5) participated in the presentation, thanked Dr. Shelton for his support of the troops, and expressed his gratitude to Mr. Durant and the ESGR for their service to our country. ESGR representatives Colonel (Ret.) Bill Knight and Colonel (Ret.) Tim Kinnison presented the Patriot Award to Dr. Shelton.  Major Nicolas Haas attended to represent Mr. Durant’s National Guard unit.

The ESGR is a Department of Defense (DoD) program established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employees.  Primarily run by volunteers and support staff, ESGR works to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., Guam-CNMI, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  ESGR represents Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

“The three highest priorities in my life are my relationship with my God, relationship with my family, and service to my country,” says Mr. Durant.  “I am very fortunate to have found a home in TriVector’s family that shares my same values.  Joey has been a good friend, mentor, and boss that has always supported my involvement in the Alabama National Guard.”
